VSCO Cam app is now on Android

One of the most popular phoneography apps and an Instagram’er favorite, VSCO Cam, which is originally iOS-only, has now been released for the Android platform. An essential Instagram’ing alternative app, VSCO Cam is a perfect fit for our snap-filter-share workflow, as it provides you with intuitive controls for snapping photos, lets you easily apply and customize visually enticing presets, with the addition of image tweaking tools to give you that extra flexibility and creativity.

VSCO Cam for Android almost looks and feels like its iOS counterpart, providing the same clean and simple interface, with the inclusion of its photo-sharing network of sorts called VSCO Grid, which the developer claims is not intended to compete with Instagram, as it is dedicated to its community of VSCO Cam users.

VSCO Cam for Android is now available as a free download and most mobile devices running Android 4.0+ will be able to run the app. It is packed with 10 default filters or presets, and more are available via in-app purchase. If you’re on Android and have been complaining about the lack of phoneography apps that are equally powerful as what are available for iOS devices, VSCO Cam should be able to address your most basic (even advanced) mobile photography needs, as well as let you enjoy Instagram’ing even more.
