More than 9.6 million Filipinos were victims of the super typhoon Yolanda (Haiyan). It didn’t just destroyed homes, but it has also stolen many lives, hopes, and dreams. As we face the aftermath; let’s help, reach out, and make use of Social Media as a powerful tool to disseminate helpful information. @IGersManila supports the #Unselfie Project, for spreading awareness via Instagram. The #Unselfie Project was launched to help raise awareness and call for donations for the victims of Yolanda.Let’s do something selfless by posting for #UnSelfie. The victims need help and as a nation we can help in our little way.
Here’s how to participate:
- Take a photo of yourself or anyone holding a sheet of paper covering the face.
- On that sheet of paper, write down the donation page URL of an organization that accepts online donations for the victims of Yolanda.
- Put the hashtag #UnSelfie after. Tag your post to IGersManila or add #IGersManila #IGersPhilippines to your photo or video caption so we can see and feature your work. Spread the word and let the world know that we need their help.
All #UnSelfie photos will be collated and showcased at www.unselfie.me, a website dedicated for this project. It’s time to take action and use our Instagram’ing device/s as a way to help our fellow Filipinos who have devastatingly suffered because of this tragedy.
