#TayoPH #SMDay2016

As we transition to a new government, Social Media Influencers attended the annual event on 30th of June, 2016. @IGersManila, being one of the Social Media Communities who attended, used Facebook Live and Periscope to cover the said event.

#SMDay was first organized 5 years ago. This year, various online influencers, thought leaders and several social media communities gathered in Samsung Hall in SM Aura, Taguig City. #TayoPH is this year’s Social Media Day theme.

#WWIM13PH in review

On the Earth Day weekend, @IGersManila Philippines joined the instragram’ing communities around the world for @Instagram’s #LifeOnEarthWWIM13.

Coinciding with the 5th Founding Anniversary celebration of @IGersManila #JiveForFive, the community trooped to La Mesa Ecopark in Quezon City for an early ecowalk on Saturday, 23-April, 2016.

Using the concept of the “Four Elements of Nature,” IGers attending the ecowalk were given a GREEN card and bag containing instructions for 3 sets of tasks  related to an element assigned to their theme. The scorching summer heat didn’t stop IGers in creatively snapshooting visual stories at the Ecopark given the limited time.

#IGMNL goes beyond the frame for Worldwide Instameet 12 #WWIM12

Following @Instagram’s announcement for Worldwide Instameet 12 #WWIM12 on the weekeend of October 3-4, 2015,  @IGersManila, the official Philippine representative at the network of Instagram cities and international communities created by Philippe Gonzalez, joins the Instagram’ing communities around the world for #WWIM12.

Set just a few days before Instagram’s 5th birthday, the theme for this #WWIM12 will  be portraits of people you meet — a celebration of the vibrant and diverse community that IG has grown through the five years since its inception.

Being the pioneering community in the Philippines, @IGersManila goes beyond the frame as it takes Instagram’ing into visual storytelling.

IGersManila at Banana Split Extra Scoop

IGersManila has always been an advocate of good vibes, and watching a show that gives us the laughs is an experience definitely worth it! #TheMods and #TheColl had an amazing time watching Banana Split Extra Scoop that showed us how to keep the energy alive.

Special thanks to Direk Jemster Reyes of Banana Split Extra Scoop for accommodating us, and of course to Mr. John Prats who greeted us live and let us took a picture with him backstage.

Some of us were even seen on TV on the April 18, 2015 episode. Thanks to our #TheColl @reyjohnino for capturing that split second exposure.

Watch out for the next episode of Banana Split Extra Scoop and you might be seeing IGersManila again. Keep the good vibes rolling!

IGersManila supports the Affinitea Race

It’s truly an honor to be part of Affinitea Run‘s upcoming “Affinitea Race: For Every Mile, Experience Unfold presents Raise D’ Roof 2015 – More Than Medals”. In fact, it’s not IGersManila’s first time to be part of their prestigious event, it’ll actually be the second time that we are teaming up. The first one was the Affinitea #BrownRace last November 2014 which gave so many wonderful memories with our #TheColl.

This year, Affinitea Run is raising the bar higher with it’s back to back run with Raise D Roof and Brown Race Marathon. This exciting event was launch last 10-April-2015 at the Akira, Art of Sushi & Teppanyaki at Makati.

Know more and read what Affinitea Run has to say to all you exciting runners out there.

It all started when we join a fun run last 2013, thinking of how we can give back the blessings we are receiving from the business. At that very moment, we decided to make our own AffiniTea Run For A Cause. We didn’t hire any organizer because we don’t have any budget for it but since we believe in the saying that “there is always a first time” and if you’re happy with what you are doing then you will achieve what you desire. As we prepare for the event, many challenges arises such as suppliers, coordination and even relationships were slightly damage but we never fail to go back to our purpose that is where we started why we have this kind of event.  We strongly believe that purpose must come first in order for us to be successful in what we are doing.

The word AffiniTea is derived from the word “affinity” which means relationship, attraction or connection. It aims to provide a new level of tea experience with its high quality, health-inspired, and natural-sourced products. After all, we have a common affinity to TEA! AffiniTea is here to improve quality health while promoting camaraderie among tea aficionados.

The word AffiniTea was continuously used even in the race to bind family members, friends, colleagues, lovers and to meet new friends.

AffiniTeaRace to promote healthy lifestyle and camaraderie among friends and family members through running, while we serve our community to help the needy most especially the children.

Our purpose is to give wonderful experience to the runners and encourage them to support public charity.

BENEFICIARY : He Cares Foundation

Raise D’ Roof concept was started year 2013 the 1st run for cause of AffiniTea. The inspiration of the theme was to help the homeless street children, abuse children, and abandoned children from Tahanan ng Pagmamahal and this year beneficiary is from He Cares Foundation same as the above mentioned advocacy.

Brown Race inspiration came from being pro country ( Maka – Bayan). Brown Race has many meaning to us this can be Lahing Kayumangi, Angat Lahi or Takbo ng Lahing Kayumangi. Creating awareness about the identity and origin of a Filipino that we came from the ancestry of great heroes and rich civilization before the pre Spanish colonizers. To upholds hidden potentials and maximize it for the glory of God and the country. Last year theme were focus on “Deepening one’s Faith, Identity and Love for the Country”. We believe that it all started of knowing our origin – Creator how powerful He is and how wonderful we are made. Even to our categories we can learn lesson on how to be Angat Lahi? Starting at 3K Conqueror , 5K Excellence, 10K World Class and 16K is Champion. This year theme “Nurturing God’s Love, Core Gifts & Family Relations” through this theme we should able to answer the secret of success. Starting at 3K Dream, 5K Passion, 10K Potential, 16K Good Habit, 21K Character and 42K is Purpose.

#IGnitePH – a BLUE Year-Ender for 2014! (A Recap)

Instagramers Manila (@IGersManila) celebrated #IGnitePH2014 – the Year-Ender Instameet on December 6, 2014 at Tramway Buffet Plaza in Mandaluyong City.

While last year’s #IGnitePH theme was red, this year it was BLUE, which also stands for Building Links Uniting Everyone, a tagline that accurately captures the relationships formed within the community since it was founded.

The evening get-together was hosted by three of @IGersManila’s #TheColl, Mao Deomampo (@darthmao), Roselle Andres (@sellie_gf), and Christoffer King Perfiñan (@christofferking).

The program opened with a pre-recorded video prayer by Kieth Walter Ayuso (@kiethwalter), who now resides abroad but was present in the entire event through a video conference call. Then, as in every instameet, @IGersManila moderator Petim Maminta’s (@ipetim) signature icebreaker of passing the energy and giving quick backrubs to each other followed.

The buffet was a good selection of mostly Filipino-Chinese dishes and a generous spread of desserts. But the main attraction in the banquet was the delicious cake and cupcakes in red velvet and chocolate baked by our very own Charisse Joanne Cao (@chakulit16), who recently ventured into the business with her Chakulit’s Sweets and Pastries.

It was in the middle of dinner when #TheMods and #TheColl did a flash mob dance to the tune of Timber (Pitbull feat. Ke$ha). If you were not there to see it, you can watch the video here.

All throughout the party were raffle draws from our sponsors, namely: 20 pieces of powerbanks sent by @KiethWalter from Dubai, 16 various smartphone accessories such as gorillapods and mini tripods with grip from Joby (who was also our sponsor in the last two exhibits), and three backpacks from Outdoor (who sponsored an invite-only instameet last April).

The crowd had a lot of fun in the “Bring Me” game, which incorporated a twist specifically catered to its interests. Instead of items, people were asked to bring (with their mobile devices) specific universal apps used for social media, photography, and photo/video editing. The prizes were Starbucks gift certificates.

There were also warm messages from @IGersManila’s moderator Pinky Delos Reyes (@pinkipop27) who is based in New York City and our guests from ProFriends, one of the fastest growing property developers in the country who now sponsored IGnitePH for two years in a row.

Completely unexpected was the presentation prepared by #TheMods. For the first time, they showed us the final edit of the “Keep the Good Vibes Rolling” music video (available for viewing here), which was filmed in the group activities held during @IGersManila’s third anniversary in Rizal Park. As an additional surprise treat for everyone, instead of screening the video in its original audio produced by SoundCloud Philippines, #TheMods sang the community song live.

Further into the evening was the exchanging of gifts and the presentation of the IGnitePH awards such as Breakthrough IGer of the Year, Hashtag of the Year, and Caption Writer of the Year. The awardees were given certificates and limited edition @IGersManila shirts. For a complete list of the 2014 awardees, please check this page.

The program finale was the much-awaited announcement of the KalyePH2014 Visual Story of the Year. But before that, Michael Tomas (@2408mike), who won the award in 2013, gave a brief message on how Instagram and @IGersManila changed his life in a positive way. This year’s awardee received an iPad Mini from Globe and PhP5,000 worth of in-store credits from Beyond the Box. It was none other than Mao Deomampo, whose winning photo appears below.

We would also like to extend our deepest gratitude to Mr. Dennis Macapagal (@dendavemac) for documenting the whole event, capturing every moment, thus, providing us beautiful memories that we will cherish for life.

We hope to see you in the next IGnitePH! Until then, keep the good vibes rolling! #ktgvr
